B-line Trail and Linear Park

Brief Description: Linear park and bike trail through downtown Bloomington

Construction Cost: $ 7,400,000

Cornerstone led the public input process, and provided planning and design services for this 2.7 mile linear park and bike trail through the heart of downtown Bloomington. The proposed trail corridor connects several major employers including City Hall, Cook Pharmaceutical, restaurants, businesses and various neighborhoods. The project was funded through Transportation Enhancement funds, brownfield grants and the City. The design included trailheads, plaza areas, drainage, landscape plantings, interpretive signage, lighting and site furniture and other site amenities.

Mayor Mark Kruzan commented at B-line’s grand opening, “This is the most significant economic development project on the City’s agenda. It’s monumental in its scope and importance.”
